Benster Privacy Policy

JP4 LABS LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), located in Florida, United States, operates the Benster mobile application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Benster, visit our website, join our waitlist, participate in beta testing, or contact us.
1. Information Stored in the App
Benster provides timed math practice without requiring an online account.
The app stores information locally on your device to personalize practice and display progress, including:
An optional nickname.
Practice preferences, including sprint duration, input style, card layout, and Level Up settings.
Completed sprint records, including questions, submitted answers, correctness, and response times.
Scores, accuracy, practice pace, levels reached, and sprint dates and times.
Information used to display personal bests, practice history, answer reviews, and practice streaks.
Whether onboarding has been completed.
This information supports the app’s features and is not automatically uploaded to JP4 LABS LLC.
You can use Benster without entering a nickname. We recommend using a nickname rather than a full name and avoiding sensitive information.
2. Website and Waitlist
If you join the Benster waitlist at benster.app, we collect the email address you voluntarily provide.
We use your email address to manage your waitlist subscription and send the Benster launch updates, product news, or testing opportunities you signed up to receive.
We use Loops, operated by Astrodon Corporation, to manage waitlist contacts and send emails. Loops processes your email address, subscription status, and email delivery information on our behalf. Depending on our email settings, it may also record email opens and link clicks to help us understand engagement with our messages.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in a message or by contacting us. Joining the waitlist is optional and is not required to use Benster.

Our website is hosted by Hostinger. When you visit benster.app, Hostinger may process technical information, such as your IP address, browser information, access times, and security logs, to deliver and protect the website.

The waitlist is intended for parents, guardians, educators, and other adults. Children should not submit their own email addresses.
3. Accounts, Advertising, and App Analytics
The current Benster app does not include:
Online user accounts.
Developer-operated cloud synchronization.
Advertising or targeted advertising.
Advertising tracking.
Third-party product-usage analytics.
Online leaderboards or public profiles.
Math practice does not require access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library.
Website and email information is separate from the nickname and practice records stored in the app. Apple’s TestFlight collection is described in Section 5.
4. Support and Feedback
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you include, such as your message, device details, or screenshots.
We use this information to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems, improve Benster, and address security issues. Our email provider processes messages to deliver and store these communications.
Please avoid including sensitive information or unnecessary information about a child. Parents or guardians should contact us on a child’s behalf.
5. TestFlight Beta Testing
When you test Benster through Apple TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and usage information and shares information with us. This can include device and operating-system details, app versions, installations, sessions, and crashes. This automatic collection cannot be separately disabled while participating in TestFlight.
Apple also shares feedback and screenshots you submit. Your name or email address may be available to us depending on how you joined the beta and submitted feedback.
We use this information to evaluate, troubleshoot, and improve Benster. We do not use information received through TestFlight for advertising or share it with third parties.
Apple handles its collection and retention under its own terms. We retain any separate copies only as long as reasonably necessary for beta testing and resolving reported issues.
Beta feedback should be submitted by a parent, guardian, or adult tester.

6. Sharing Information
We do not sell or rent personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Benster does not automatically share your locally stored nickname or practice records with JP4 LABS LLC, Loops, Hostinger, or other companies.
For website, waitlist, and support information, we use providers including:
Hostinger for website hosting.
Loops for waitlist management and email delivery.
Our email provider for support communications.
These providers process information needed to provide their services, subject to applicable service terms and data-protection arrangements.
Apple separately handles information associated with its App Store and TestFlight services. The restrictions on our use and sharing of TestFlight information are described in Section 5.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process.
7. Retention and Deletion
Information stored in the app
Your nickname and practice information remain on your device between sessions.
In Settings, you can change or remove your nickname and change your practice preferences.
To delete local app information, select Settings → Saved data → Delete all saved data, complete the parental gate, and select Delete Everything in the final confirmation. This removes your nickname, saved preferences, onboarding completion status, sprint history, personal bests, and records used to calculate streaks from the app’s local storage.
Selecting Reset practice defaults requires completing the parental gate and confirming the reset. This resets practice settings without deleting your nickname or progress.
Device backups may contain app information, depending on your settings. Deleting information in Benster does not necessarily remove existing backup copies. Backup retention and deletion are managed through your device or backup provider.
Because we do not receive your local practice records, we cannot access, recover, or remotely delete those records for you.
Waitlist and email information
We retain waitlist information while reasonably necessary to provide the communications you requested. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails but does not necessarily delete your contact record.
You may contact us to request deletion. Limited unsubscribe or suppression records may be retained to respect your opt-out and meet applicable obligations.
Support and beta information
We retain support messages and beta information only as long as reasonably necessary to handle requests, investigate problems, maintain security, and satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Apple controls retention within its own services.
8. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can:
Use Benster without entering a nickname.
Change or remove your nickname in Settings.
Delete locally stored app information through Settings after completing the parental gate and deletion confirmation.
Choose not to join the waitlist.
Unsubscribe from marketing emails.
Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you provided directly to us.
We may need to verify that a request concerns your information before completing it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law. We will handle requests as required by that law.
9. Children’s Privacy and Parental Gate
Benster is designed for math learners, including children. Its current practice features do not require children to create an online account or send their nickname or practice records to us.
Parents and guardians can review information stored in the app and delete it through Settings using the process described in Section 7. Device backups are subject to the behavior described in that section.
Benster requires a parental math challenge before accessing Reset practice defaults, Delete all saved data, and the external Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links.
This parental gate is intended to encourage adult involvement. Answers are processed temporarily on the device and are not saved or transmitted by this feature. Passing the gate does not verify a person’s age or identity and does not constitute consent to collect personal information.
Our waitlist, support communications, and beta feedback are intended for adults. Please do not submit a child’s full name, email address, photograph, school details, or other unnecessary personal information.
If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.
10. Security
Benster relies on local app storage and security protections provided by your device and operating system. Its local database does not have a separate application-level encryption layer.
We take reasonable precautions to protect information available to us. However, no electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Please protect access to your device and avoid entering sensitive information in nicknames or feedback.
11. International Processing
JP4 LABS LLC operates in the United States. Our providers may process website, waitlist, email, support, or beta information in the United States or other countries where they operate.
Privacy protections in those countries may differ from those in your country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism or other lawful basis.
12. Tracking and External Links
The Benster app does not track activity across other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising.
The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links in Settings require completing the parental gate before opening our website in your browser. Benster does not attach your nickname, practice records, or gate answer to these links. Visiting the website involves the website information handling described in this policy.
Other linked services operate under their own privacy policies. Email engagement measurement through Loops is described in Section 2.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Benster develops or our information-handling practices change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially different information practices take effect.
